WM-Bus USB radio stick
-
Hi,
Is there a way to use e.g. the Metis USB sticks from Würth Elektronik to process OMS/WM-Bus data in Mervis? https://www.we-online.com/en/components/products/USB_RADIO_STICK_METERING
Thanks,

@lyngaas Hello, Unipi officially does not support this USB stick. Please check for supported convertors.
If you want to use different type you need to install appropriate drivers to our open OS.

@zdenek_rusek The adapter uses a common FTDI chipset which is already supported by the Mervis OS image built for Axon:
[ 4.841234] usbcore: registered new interface driver ftdi_sio
[ 4.841277] usbserial: USB Serial support registered for FTDI USB Serial Device
[ 4.841560] ftdi_sio 2-1:1.0: FTDI USB Serial Device converter detected
[ 4.841663] usb 2-1: Detected FT232RL
[ 4.846986] usb 2-1: FTDI USB Serial Device converter now attached to ttyUSB0 -
@zdenek_rusek I guess the proper question would be whether there is support for wireless M-Bus in Mervis when we have a wM-bus radio USB stick which can already communicate through a USB serial interface on the host OS.

@lyngaas Unfortunately, Mervis does not support wireless M-Bus and the company that develops it has currently no plans of implementing it. Only solution I can think of is interpreting the data in the GNU/Linux operating system and making them available e.g. via Modbus TCP, but we do not provide any support for this.
