1 wire net dies "Problem solved"
-
I have a big problem
my one wire mesh dies at regular intervals
it shows 0 value and in order to get it back so it is enough to remove the plug from unipi and put it in again
or restart the RPI.
I have 10 pieces of sensors in my net
It is possible to drive outputs and analog out works but not one wire
10 pcs sensors too much to connect to unipi
My net is about 10 m long using Cat 5 cable -
@zorro_66 Try grounding the shielng to the GND of the building as described in http://unipi.technology/wiki/1Wire_topology
Btw. the Neuron has a mechanism to disable and enable the 1Wire bus which should restart the bus and help you out of this trouble
-
I have no Neuron, uses a Unipi ver: 1: 1
Unfortunately, I use unshielded Cat 5 cable
so there is nothing to Earth with.
I just ordered 2 Hub to test if that makes a difference
I can use standard patch cable between unipi> Hub> Hub -
It may be worth a try, cover the patch leads in tinfoil. Worked for me!
-
-
But the strange thing is that it has worked for 6 months the problem has come now after Christmas
-
It was similar for me, mine ran fine for a few weeks before I got problems.
-
Now I have a new cable between unipi and terminal in my control panel
which is grounded in the cabinet.
It is UNIP located at the top who have the problem
the one who sits down works perfectly.
-
@zorro_66 Any possibility to change the UTP to STP/FTP from the cabinet at least to the nearest hub?
Btw. nice installation :) Would be great if you could share with us a few lines describing the project and a few picture.
-
I use no hub I use the daisy chain
there can be problems
I can certainly tell you a little about my system and put some more -
Now it has happened again
did not help with shielded cable
I'll test to update to the latest UniPi-Mervis-OS 2016-12-06
-
@zorro_66 Please test and report, any possibility to use shielded cable between the sensors?
-
@zorro_66 did you connect shield to the ground ? it is necessary.
-
Yes as in the picture
-
Now it has worked in two days
My second Unipi do not have these problems
where I have 20 pieces of sensors connected in a star network with no shielded cable.
Does it help to update the software in Rpi.
There seems to be some software errors.
Just got home 2 1-Wire hub from Unipi.
Can i connect with a standard RJ45 patch cable -
Now, I have rebuilt my entire 1-wire network and used Unipi hub instead
so now we will see if the network stops die
-
My 1-wire is incredibly unstable
network dies at irregular intervals, showing unreasonable temperatures.
I have rebuilt my net for spec from Unipi wiki shielded cat5 cable and hubs.
But no difference 1-wire network die anyways.
So it can not be anything wrong with the network itself, but the fault must be in Unipi alt. software.
Grateful for help . -
@zorro_66 Can you try enabling the CRC check at the sensors? Just check the box in the sesors in the Scratchpad group. You might need to make the sensor as a custom and backup your project before playing with it
-
I do not understand what you mean now
