    • RE: Cabling for 1-Wire extension to UNICA U1WTVS

      Hi Thomas,

Thanks for the reply. I already tried this in all ways thinkable. These would be the connections I already done:
      p6+p7 on 1-W
      p4+p5 on 5V
      p3 + p8 on GND

I also tried with 1 cable each.

After a successful connection, I could plug it in in the 1-Wire extender an after entering in the console owdir, I should see a new sensor, or not?
At the moment I got the following:
      root@unipi:~# owdir
      /28.101160070000
      /28.F3CF5F070000
      /28.B7605F070000
      /28.7F025F070000
      /bus.0
      /uncached
      /settings
      /system
      /statistics
      /structure
      /simultaneous
      /alarm

I already have connected 4 temperature sensors, is this an issue? And how can I verify if the connection the the UNICA sensore is fine or at least if the sensor is broken?

      Thank you and best regards
      Fabian

    • Cabling for 1-Wire extension to UNICA U1WTVS

      Hi,

I was trying to connect my Unica Sensor with the Unipi over a 1Wire expander. So I took an ethernet cable and tried every way to connect it with my sensor but sadly I haven't got it connected correctly that OWFS or FHEM shows any available data. I also tried the FHEM image from unipi to exclude any configuration issues.

Can someone explain to me, which pins from the RJ45 plug I have to use on which connector of the sensor? Like "pin1 --> 5V, pin2 --> 1-W, pin3 --> AO, pin4 --> GND" or link the correct documentation for this. I've found several different docs for this with different solutions but none of them are working. A good doc for this would be very nice, maybe I just didn't found it online but I really tried a lot.

Thank you very much and have a great day

      Hi Thomas,

We have now january, is there support for Evok and the 1-Wire sensors?

      Thanks and best regards

    • RE: unica sensors not working

      Hi,

I would also love to see, that Evok will support the unica sensors.

Is there some sort of timeline, when the sensors will be supported by evok and with evok all sorts of open source home automation systems?

      Thank you and best regards

      Hi Thomas,

      Thanks for the sensor.
As soon, as I see that the sensor gets supported by evok, I'll purchase a few of them and "winter is coming", so hopefully in a few weeks, it will be supported. The price difference in this range isn't a real problem.

For my purpose, the monitoring of the environemental variables of my snakes terrarium and control of the light and heat, REX or Marvis are a bit too big, Pimatic or FHEM are the tools of my choice.

And FYI - DHT22 also measures the temp and humidity.

Thank you very much and have a great day

    • RE: Connect DHT22 to UniPi

      Hi Thomas,

Thanks for your reply. You're right, I would hate to modify the cable between UniPi and RPi.
Is there no other way to get the data from the sensor or is there an other sensor for humidity data for UniPi?

I'll check in a few days if some other good ideas are around, otherwise I'll give it a try and change the cableing to the UniPi.

Thank you and have a great day

      Hi everybody,

I've found this pimatic Plugin and managed to add it to Pimatic:
      https://pimatic.org/plugins/pimatic-dht-sensors/

Sadly, I haven't managed to do the right cableling to connect the DHT sensor in the right way to UniPi to read the data.

      Thank you and best regards

    • Connect DHT22 to UniPi

      Hi everybody,

I've got a DHT22 humidity and temp sensort and would like to connect it to my UniPi board. Is it possibly to read out the data over UniPi or would I need to use a plain Raspberry Pi?

      I have this sensor:
      https://www.adafruit.com/product/385

Has anybody already connected this sensor to UniPi? Sadly, there is no humidity sensor from the UniPi Shop and I would need it for my terrarium monitoring.

      Thank you and best regards
      Fabian
