I am going to be using the UniPi to monitor magnetic door sensors. I assume I should be using the digital input connectors. In the manual you state "12V power supply – Only for use with digital inputs of UniPi"

Should I be using a 12V power supply or a 5V power supply if I am using the digital input connections?

          Hello Chris,

the inputs are designed to work in the range of 5-24V DC. This means you can use both. But the 5V cannot guarantee 100% working on long cables because of voltage drop. So I suggest using the internal 12V.

(The third option is using external 12-24V power supply)
