Connect DHT22 to UniPi
-
Hi everybody,
I've got a DHT22 humidity and temp sensort and would like to connect it to my UniPi board. Is it possibly to read out the data over UniPi or would I need to use a plain Raspberry Pi?
I have this sensor:
https://www.adafruit.com/product/385Has anybody already connected this sensor to UniPi? Sadly, there is no humidity sensor from the UniPi Shop and I would need it for my terrarium monitoring.
Thank you and best regards

Hi everybody,
I've found this pimatic Plugin and managed to add it to Pimatic:
https://pimatic.org/plugins/pimatic-dht-sensors/Sadly, I haven't managed to do the right cableling to connect the DHT sensor in the right way to UniPi to read the data.
Thank you and best regards

Hello, you would hate to modify the cable between UniPi and RPi and connect the sensor directly to GPIOs. You can see the list of (un)used GPIOs in the documentation...

Hi Thomas,
Thanks for your reply. You're right, I would hate to modify the cable between UniPi and RPi.
Is there no other way to get the data from the sensor or is there an other sensor for humidity data for UniPi?I'll check in a few days if some other good ideas are around, otherwise I'll give it a try and change the cableing to the UniPi.
Thank you and have a great day

http://unipi.technology/product/unica-1wire-sensor/ is the way to go. More expensive than the DHT but also measures temperature. Currently not supported in evok but it should be done during October.

Hi Thomas,
Thanks for the sensor.
As soon, as I see that the sensor gets supported by evok, I'll purchase a few of them and "winter is coming", so hopefully in a few weeks, it will be supported. The price difference in this range isn't a real problem. For my purpose, the monitoring of the environemental variables of my snakes terrarium and control of the light and heat, REX or Marvis are a bit too big, Pimatic or FHEM are the tools of my choice.
And FYI - DHT22 also measures the temp and humidity.
Thank you very much and have a great day

If you would choose FHEM, than no need to wait because FHEM does not use evok

Hi Tomas,
I would like to ask if the unica sensor behave as one 1temp device or as more than one -

Hi Tomas,
I would like to ask if the unica sensor behave as one 1temp device or as more than oneIt shows up as a single device but is has different registers that can be read (temperature, vdd, vac, vss...)

Hi Thomas,
We have now january, is there support for Evok and the 1-Wire sensors?
Thanks and best regards
