Suggestions to make this product even better!



  • Just want you to give some suggestions to make the Unipi even better! First, thanks for this great development board. It makes it really easy to connect external devices.

    • It would be great if you add some GND connectors (use an alternate color, like the current 12V connector). This makes it easier to connect external devices
    • Add a 5V power supply to the shop and to the UniPi complete set.
    • Add extra (alternative) connectors for 5V power supply, so there's no need to search for an exact matching power supply connector.
    • Plastic housing, fitted for Din Holder

    We are still accepting ideas for future versions so any suggestions are welcomed
    We want to add the 5V power supply, but we just cannot find any power supply with universal plug EU vs US... So we will at least provide the power supply with European plug and later other version.
    The connector is a tough one We are still counting pros and cons...
    We really wanted to provide the plastic housing but we do not have any experience with this... So again, any suggestions, contacts, tips are welcomed.

    • Include a serial adapter with RJ11 and USB connectors in the shop
    • Include Battery in the shop
    • Add pins for the serial so the common RPi serial adaptors can be used
    • Extending on the above: Add the full pin rows identical to the RPi one with all unused pins routed through. It should be possible to connect another module like the PiFace display: http://www.element14.com/community/docs ... =sjymv0fpI . Would be great to give manual control without the need for a smartphone or computer to connect to the RPi.
    • Alternatively design a T connector that can be put between the RPi and another module and also connect to the UniPi

    I was looking for a din rail enclosure for my unipi and i have found this one :

    Looks promising.....Anyway i'm gone try it and send feedback. Also i have found a company at Czech Republic with a lot of plastic housings incuding this one.

    Don't know if version 2 of unipi will remain in the same dimensions, but it would be great if we have an enclosure like this as an option.

  • We do not plan to make a case for the UniPi v1.1 except the cover & holder that is already available…



  • Just an update for a din rail enclosure.

    I have found a common standard DIN rail 35mm enclosure in 2, 4 and 9 units for electronic devices at thingiverse.com and i'm thinking to modify it to unipi dimensions so i can fit it inside.

    Haven't found the time to do it yet, cause my skills at 3d drawing are poor, so i'm posting it here if someone can help with it.
